Comprehensive District and School Assessment Systems
Accurate measurements of student work point the way for teachers and administrators to improve student outcomes. Whether screening for learning difficulties, pinpointing areas that call for further work, or monitoring student progress, data provide the necessary feedback to improve teaching and learning.
Working with the Assessment and Accountability Comprehensive Center, the NECC is identifying current assessment research and best practices in order to offer guidance and training to SEA personnel, particularly on assessments for special needs students. NECC will also provide guidance and training in the development of local accountability and assessment systems aligned to state standards. Included in this effort will be training conducted in collaboration with the Northeast Regional Resource Center on Response to Intervention (RTI).
